Spring Wind original title: the Rafla (the raid)
a film by Roselyne Bosch
spring wind rose bosch, Sports stage a true story, characters who really exist, at the precise historical context of Nazism. we are in France, 1942.
would say that this is the umpteenth film horror of the Holocaust - on which so much has been written and filmed - and that little new could give the movie, but tells a spring wind that stained for France and does it always take the side of children.
as we often are not the issues addressed to make a film a good product but as they are told.
in an attempt to bring to the attention of the general public the deportation, ordered by the Vichy collaborationist regime of Marshal, approximately 13,000 Jews who had fled to Paris, bosch focuses on children from their eyes, we learn the facts, we participate the torment that has overwhelmed them and their families, we try and find answers that do not feel assaulted by the same sense of abandonment and loss.
children, who by their innocence and purity of mind look at the horror of those without an understanding, rappresnetano the engine of the film. adults are supporting actors.
jew heroic doctor (Jean Reno) who does not think for one second to save themselves and that attends to the end instead of their peers, or the nurse Catholic (Melanie Laurent) not abandon the Jewish children in the exhaustion of nemmno their illness, not supporting the film but they are sustained, because the spring wind is an ensemble film, small eyes of many who do not surrender to death and that we bear witness to a precious life force. Cira of 25,000 Jews for the raid only a portion was saved thanks to the help of French citizens who agreed to hide them. the remaining were taken to the Velodrome d'Hiver, where what was left for their final journey. of them returned only twenty-five people and no children.
protest film, memory, raw and authentic, the work of Bosch has the accuracy of the documentary and the modesty of television products for households.
colors are saturated, the light is intense and always played on the boundary between fiction and reality.
the pace and never devoid of delicacy, the film shows without showing too much.
bosch never gives evidence, but says leaving ample room for insight to the viewer, without abandoning the assumption.
we know what will happen to the victims, who suffer and we can imagine what horrors they faced. not just in this show, so do not explain, lies the emotional force of the story.
Jean Reno, a little 'imbolsito and creasing, is pretty intense, as is Melanie Laurent (the blonde avenger Tarantino Inglorious Basterds), which gives rise to a sensitive woman, and determined by the great inner strength.
spring wind is a film about children and their strength, the strength of human love and believe in life.
a good product for everyone, to never forget.
